Tools

The Tools tab provides the ability to enable access to Reports Configuration and Charts & Dashboards.

Available operations:

• Enable access for reports configuration
• Enable access for charts and dashboards
• Select all or deselect all permissions for analytics tools
• Ignore analytics tools permissions from this Security Group

NOTE: The Reports module must be enabled to set permissions for reports.

Reports Configuration

Permissions for Reports Configuration use the Module Setting permissions.

Charts & Dashboards

Available operations:

• Enable View, Create, Update, Delete, or Export access for charts and dashboards

View

From the Tools tab, you can enable View access for charts and dashboards.

Available operations with View access:

• View the list of charts
• View the properties of charts
• Preview charts
• View the list of chart colors
• View the list of dashboards
• View the dashboard settings

Create

From the Tools tab, you can enable Create access for charts and dashboards.

Available operations with Create access (requires View):

• Create new charts (requires Data View to see the Source Table drop down)
• Create new chart colors
• Create new dashboards

Update

From the Tools tab, you can enable Update access for charts and dashboards.

Available operations with Update access (requires View):

• Update the properties of charts
• Clear the cache of charts
• Edit the properties of dashboards
• Update the dashboard settings

Delete

From the Tools tab, you can enable Delete access for charts and dashboards.

Available operations with Delete access (requires View):

• Delete charts
• Delete non-default chart colors
• Delete dashboards

Export

From the Tools tab, you can enable Export access for charts and dashboards.

Available operations with Export access (requires View):

• Export the list of charts
• Export the list of chart colors

Select All

From the Tools tab, you can select all or deselect all permissions for analytics tools.

1. From the menu in the upper right corner, check Select All to check (enable) all permissions on the tab.
   
2. Uncheck Select All to uncheck (remove) all permissions on the tab.
   

Ignore

From the Tools tab, you can ignore analytics tools permissions from this security group by selecting Ignore. This option is used when overlaying multiple security groups and analytics tools permissions are set by a different security group. Not enabling permissions on the Tools tab, without selecting Ignore, results in no access, as overlaid security groups assume the most restrictive permissions.
