Show Zero Values

The Show Zero Values setting is used to enable or disable the displaying of data points with no value set.  In the example below, we are creating a pie chart to represent Users by Migration Status.  There are several Migration Status values that are not set on any of the User assets (i.e. Decommissioned, Excluded, Partially Migrated, Provisioned, Undefined).  This setting will allow you to either display those unused statuses on the chart legend or to hide them.

From the Charts tab, you can create charts and either show or hide zero values.  To create:

1. Click the New Chart button to bring up the New Chart wizard
2. Enter the properties of the new chart
   
   1. Name – Users by Status
   2. Source Type – Asset Type
   3. Source Table – Asset Type: User
   4. Description – This field was left blank
   5. Chart Type – Pie
   6. Heading Color – Light Blue
   7. Chart Span – Half Width
   8. Chart Position – After: Users by Location (Top 10)
   9. Results to Show – All
   10. Show Zero Values – YES. This will display all values on the chart, regardless of their value being zero.
   11. Show by Default – YES
   12. Enabled – YES
3. Select the data columns and filters of the new chart
   
   1. Data Column – Migration Status
      1. Filter – None selected. This will display all Migration Status values on the chart.
      2. Label – The label was left blank. The field is ignored unless one or more filter values are selected.
      3. Color – Black. The field is ignored unless one or more filter values is selected.
   2. Secondary Filter – Not applicable for this example
4. Click the Preview Chart button to preview the chart before saving. Click the Close button to exit the chart preview.
5. Click the Create Chart button when finished to create the chart. You will be redirected back to the Charts tab. Click the Cancel button to cancel the operation.
6. The Users by Status pie chart with Show Zero Values set to YES is shown below. The five statuses with zero values are displayed on the chart legend.
   
7. The Users by Status pie chart with Show Zero Values set to NO is shown below. The five statuses with zero values are not displayed on the chart legend.
