Simple Bar Chart

In the example below, we are creating a simple bar chart to represent Migrated Computers by Location.  The chart filters on Computers in the Migrated and Not Migrated status across selected Locations.

From the Charts tab, you can create simple bar charts.  To create:

1. Click the New Chart button to bring up the New Chart wizard
2. Enter the properties of the new chart
   
   1. Name – Migrated Computers by Location
   2. Source Type – Asset Type
   3. Source Table – Asset Type: Computer
   4. Description – This field was left blank
   5. Chart Type – Bar
   6. Heading Color – Blue
   7. Chart Span – Half Width
   8. Chart Position – After: Computers by Operating System
   9. Results to Show – All
   10. Show Zero Values – NO. This will omit all zero values from the chart legend.
   11. Show by Default – NO
   12. Enabled – YES
3. Select the data columns and filters of the new chart
   
   1. Data Column 1 – Migration Status
      1. Filter – Migrated
      2. Label – The label was left blank. The name of the filtered selected will be displayed as the name of the chart element (i.e. Migrated).  Use this field to change the name displayed for the element on the chart.
      3. Color – Green
   2. Data Column 2 – Migration Status
      1. Filter – Not Migrated
      2. Label – The label was left blank. The name of the filtered selected will be displayed as the name of the chart element (i.e. Not Migrated).  Use this field to change the name displayed for the element on the chart.
      3. Color – Red
   3. X-Axis
      1. Data Column – Location
      2. Filter – Multiple Locations selected. Use the field to filter the Locations displayed across the x-axis (horizontal) of the chart.
      3. Color – Black. The field is ignored.
   4. Secondary Filter – Not applicable for this example
4. Click the Preview Chart button to preview the chart before saving. Click the Close button to exit the chart preview.
5. Click the Create Chart button when finished to create the chart. You will be redirected back to the Charts tab. Click the Cancel button to cancel the operation.
