The Attachments tab provides the ability to manage wave attachments.
Available operations:
- View attachments linked to the wave
- Columns available
- Name – Name of the linked attachment
- Description – Description of the linked attachment
- Type – Type of attachment (Uploaded File or External URL)
- Date Linked – Date the attachment was linked to the wave
- Columns available
- View the properties of linked attachments by clicking the hyperlink of the Name field
- Link attachments to the wave
- Create (and link) new attachment to the wave
- Download attachments by selecting an attachment (row) and clicking the Download Attachment button on the toolbar
- Unlink attachments from the wave by selecting an attachment (row) and clicking the Unlink Attachment button on the toolbar
- You can also change the number of visible rows in the table, set column visibility, export to CSV or Excel, refresh the table and search for text
Link Attachments
From the Attachment tab, you can link attachments to the wave. To link:
- Click the Link Attachments button to bring up the Link Attachments to Wave dialog
- Select attachments from the Attachments drop down and then click the Link button. Click the Close button to cancel the operation.
- The link function is only available to users in the Administrator and Regular User security groups
New Attachment
From the Attachment tab, you can create (and link) attachments to the wave. To create:
- Click the New Attachment button to bring up the New Attachment dialog
- Enter the properties of the new attachment
- Name – Name of the attachment (required)
- Description – Description of the attachment (optional)
- Type – Select the type of attachment (required)
- Different options are available depending on the type of attachment:
- Uploaded File – Browse for a file to upload
NOTE: File types that can be uploaded are managed by ReadyWorks Support. Contact ReadyWorks Support to add additional file types. - External URL – Enter the URL for the file (on a document repository for example). The URL must include http:// or https:// for the attachment to be created.

- Different options are available depending on the type of attachment:
- Click the Create button when finished to create the attachment. Click the Close button to cancel the operation.
Download Attachments
From the Attachments tab, you can download attachments. To download:
- Select an attachment (row) to download. Only one attachment can be downloaded at a time.
- Click the Download Attachment button on the toolbar
- The download button is grayed out unless an attachment (row) is selected
- The download button is grayed out unless an attachment (row) is selected
- The attachment will either download (if type is Uploaded File) or open in a new browser tab (if type is External URL)
Unlink Attachments
From the Attachments tab, you can unlink attachments from the wave. To unlink:
- Select an attachment (row) to unlink. Only one attachment can be unlinked at a time.
- Click the Unlink Attachment button on the toolbar
- The unlink button is grayed out unless an attachment (row) is selected
- The unlink function is only available to users in the Administrator and Regular User security groups
- The unlink button is grayed out unless an attachment (row) is selected
- Click the Unlink button to confirm the unlink operation. Click the Cancel button to cancel the operation.
