Waves

The Waves tab provides the ability to enable access to Waves.

Available operations:

• Enable View, Create, Delete or Export access for waves
• Enable View or Update access when viewing the properties of waves
• Enable View, Update, Delete, or Export access for the Attachments tab
• Enable View or Export access for the History tab
• Enable View, Create, Update, Delete or Export access for the Self Service Schedule tab
• Enable View, Create, Delete or Export access for the Notes tab
• Enable View, Update, Delete or Export access for the T-Comm Templates tab
• Enable View or Export access for the T-Comm History tab
• Enable View or Update access for the SCCM Deployment tab (ETL3 or prior)
• Enable View or Update access for the Orchestration tab (ETL4 or later)
• Enable View, Update, Delete or Export access for the Linked Assets tab
• Enable View or Export access for the Wave Tasks tab
• Enable View access for the Wave Calendar tab
• Enable object level permissions to restrict access to specific waves
• Select all or deselect all permissions for waves
• Ignore waves permissions from this Security Group

NOTE:  The ETL module and SCCM Dashboard must be enabled to set permissions for SCCM deployment.

View

From the Waves tab, you can enable View access for waves.

Available operations with View access:

• View the list of waves (requires View Wave View to see wave hyperlinks)

Create

From the Waves tab, you can enable Create access for waves.

Available operations with Create access (requires View):

• Create new waves
  • Requires:
    • Wave Types View to see Wave Types drop down
    • Wave Groups View to see Wave Groups drop down
    • T-Comm Templates View to see T-Comm Templates drop down
    • Assets View to see Asset Type Filter and Link Assets drop downs

Delete

From the Waves tab, you can enable Delete access for waves.

Available operations with Delete access (requires View):

• Delete waves

Export

From the Waves tab, you can enable Export access for waves.

Available operations with Export access (requires View):

• Export the list of waves

View Wave

View

From the Waves tab, you can enable View access when viewing the properties of waves.

Available operations with View access (requires Waves View):

• View the properties of waves

Update

From the Waves tab, you can enable Update access when viewing the properties of waves.

• Edit the properties of waves
  • Requires:
    • Wave Types View to see Wave Types drop down
    • Wave Groups View to see Wave Groups drop down

Attachments

View

From the Waves tab, you can enable View access for attachments when viewing the properties of waves.

Available operations with View access (requires View Wave View and Attachments View):

• View attachments linked to waves (requires View Attachment View to see attachment hyperlinks)
• Create new attachments (requires Attachments Create)
• Download attachments linked to waves (requires Attachments Download)

Update

From the Waves tab, you can enable Update access for attachments when viewing the properties of waves.

Available operations with Update access (requires View):

• Link attachments to waves

Delete

From the Waves tab, you can enable Delete access for attachments when viewing the properties of waves.

Available operations with Delete access (requires View):

• Unlink attachments from waves

Export

From the Waves tab, you can enable Export access for attachments when viewing the properties of waves.

History

View

From the Waves tab, you can enable View access for the history when viewing the properties of waves.

Self Service Schedule

View

From the Waves tab, you can enable View access for self service schedule when viewing the properties of waves.

Delete

T-Comm Templates

View

From the Waves tab, you can enable View access for T-Comm templates when viewing the properties of waves.

Update

From the Waves tab, you can enable Update access for T-Comm templates when viewing the properties of waves.

Delete

T-Comm History

View

From the Waves tab, you can enable View access for the T-Comm sent history when viewing the properties of waves.

Export

From the Waves tab, you can enable Export access for the T-Comm sent history when viewing the properties of waves.

SCCM Deployment

View

From the Waves tab, you can enable View access for SCCM deployment when viewing the properties of waves.

Available operations with View access (requires View Wave View):

• View the SCCM deployment properties of waves (ETL3 or prior)

Update

Orchestration

View

From the Waves tab, you can enable View access for orchestration when viewing the properties of waves.

Available operations with View access (requires View Wave View):

• View the orchestration properties of waves (ETL4 or later)

NOTE:  The ETL module must be enabled to set permissions for orchestration.

Update

From the Waves tab, you can enable Update access for orchestration when viewing the properties of waves.

Available operations with Update access (requires View):

• Update the orchestration properties of waves (ETL4 or later)

NOTE:  The ETL module must be enabled to set permissions for orchestration.

Linked Assets

View

From the Waves tab, you can enable View access for linked assets when viewing the properties of waves.

Available operations with View access (requires View Wave View and Assets View):

• View assets linked to waves (requires View Asset View to see asset hyperlinks)

Update

From the Waves tab, you can enable Update access for linked assets when viewing the properties of waves.

Available operations with Update access (requires View):

• Link assets to waves
• Edit assets linked to waves (requires Assets Update)
• Edit assets linked to waves in bulk (requires Assets Update)
• Link assests to wave tasks (requires Tasks View)

Delete

From the Waves tab, you can enable Delete access for linked assets when viewing the properties of waves.

Available operations with Delete access (requires View):

• Unlink assets from waves
• Unlink all assets of a specific asset type from waves

Export

From the Waves tab, you can enable Export access for linked assets when viewing the properties of waves.

Available operations with Export access (requires View):

• Export the list of assets linked to waves

Wave Tasks

View

From the Waves tab, you can enable View access for wave tasks when viewing the properties of waves.

Available operations with View access (requires View Wave View and Tasks View):

• View the list of wave tasks
  • Requires:
    • View Task View to see wave task hyperlinks
    • View Asset View to see asset hyperlinks
    • Users & Groups View to see Assigned To user hyperlinks
• Create new wave tasks
  • Requires:
    • Tasks Create to see New Task button
    • Task Chain Templates View to see Task Chain Template drop down
    • Task Types View to see Task Type drop down
    • Task Priority View to see Task Priority drop down
    • Action Templates View to see Action Templates drop down
    • T-Comm Templates View to see T-Comm Templates drop down
    • Assets View to see Asset Type Filter and Link Assets drop downs
• Manage wave tasks (assign, start all, start, complete, cancel, fail, pause) (requires Tasks Update)
• Delete wave tasks (requires Tasks Delete)

Export

From the Waves tab, you can enable Export access for wave tasks when viewing the properties of waves.

Available operations with Export access (requires View):

• Export the list of wave tasks

Wave Calendar

View

From the Waves tab, you can enable View access for the wave calendar when viewing the properties of waves.

Available operations with View access (requires View Wave View):

• View waves and wave tasks on a calendar
• Navigate to a task by double clicking on a task on the calendar (requires View Task View)
• Move tasks on the calendar by dragging a task (requires Tasks Update)

Object Level

From the Waves tab, you can enable object level permissions and restrict access to specific waves. To restrict access:

1. Click the Enable Object Level Permissions checkbox to enable object level permissions
   
   NOTE: A icon is displayed when Object Level Permissions is enabled.
2. Add waves
   1. Click the button to bring up the Waves dialog
   2. Select waves from the Name drop down and then click the Add button. Click the Close button to cancel the operation.
      
   3. Added waves are displayed below the button
      
3. Set permissions for the added waves (View is required at minimum to access the Waves module)
   NOTE: Object level permissions restricts access to the waves selected. Users cannot be assigned to more than one Security Group with the same module permissioned (e.g. Waves) if any of those modules include object level permissions.
   
4. Click the button to delete a wave (row) or all waves
5. Uncheck the Enable Object Level Permissions checkbox to disable object level permissions
   NOTE:  Deleting all waves (either from the Waves tab or the Waves module) does not disable object level permissions and results in access to no waves.

Select All

From the Waves tab, you can select all or deselect all permissions for waves.

1. From the menu in the upper right corner, check Select All to check (enable) all permissions on the tab.
   
2. Uncheck Select All to uncheck (remove) all permissions on the tab.
   

Ignore

From the Waves tab, you can ignore waves permissions from this security group by selecting Ignore. This option is used when overlaying multiple security groups and waves permissions are set by a different security group. Not enabling permissions on the Waves tab, without selecting Ignore, results in no access, as overlaid security groups assume the most restrictive permissions.

Add Waves

From the Waves tab, you can add waves to restrict access to when enabling object level permissions. To add waves:

1. Click the button to bring up the Waves dialog
2. Select waves from the Name drop down and then click the Add button. Click the Close button to cancel the operation.
   
   NOTE:  Waves are listed alphabetically.
