Task Actions

The Task Actions tab provides the ability to manage task actions.
Available operations:
- Create new task actions by clicking on the New Action button
- View task actions linked to the task
- Columns visible
- Id (hidden by default) – System Id of the task action
- Name – Name of the task action
- Details – Details of the task action
- Status – Status of the task action (Not Started, Complete)
- Date Completed – Date the task action was completed
- Completed By – ReadyWorks user who completed the task action
- Date Created – Date the task action was created
- Columns visible
- Complete task actions by selecting a task action (row) and clicking the Complete Action button on the toolbar
- Undo task actions by selecting a task action (row) and clicking the Undo Action button on the toolbar
- Edit task actions by selecting a task action (row) and clicking the Edit Action button on the toolbar
- Delete task actions by selecting a task action (row) and clicking the Delete Action button on the toolbar
- Load action templates into the task by selecting Load Template from the New Action drop down
- Save the list of task actions to an action template by selecting Save as Template from the New Action drop down
- You can also change the number of visible rows in the table, set column visibility, export to CSV or Excel, refresh the table and search for text
New Task Action
From the Task Actions tab, you can create task actions. To create:
- Click the New Action button to bring up the New Action dialog
- Enter the properties of the new task action
- Name – Name of the task action (required)
- Details – Details of the task action (optional)
- Click the Create button when finished to create the task action. You will be redirected back to the View Task page. Click the Close button to cancel the operation.
Edit Task Actions
From the Task Actions tab, you can edit task actions. To edit:
- Select a task action (row) to edit
- Click the Edit Action button on the toolbar
- The edit button is grayed out unless a task action (row) is selected
- The edit function is only available to users in the Administrator and Regular User security groups
- The edit button is grayed out unless a task action (row) is selected
- Update the properties of the task action
- Name – Name of the task action (required)
- Details – Details of the task action (optional)
- Click the Update button when finished to update the task action. You will be redirected back to the View Task page. Click the Close button to cancel the operation.
Complete Tasks Actions
From the Task Actions tab, you can complete a task action. To complete:
- Select a Not Started task action (row) to complete. Only one task action can be completed at a time.
- Click the Complete Action button on the toolbar
- The complete button is grayed out unless a Not Started task action (row) is selected
- The complete function is only available to users in the Administrator, Regular User and Workflow User security groups
- The complete button is grayed out unless a Not Started task action (row) is selected
- Click the Complete button to confirm the complete operation. Click the Cancel button to cancel the operation.
Undo Task Actions
From Task Actions tab, you can undo task actions. To undo:
- Select a Complete task action (row) to undo. Only one task action can be undone at a time.
- Click the Undo Action button on the toolbar
- The undo button is grayed out unless a Complete task action (row) is selected
- The undo action function is only available to users in the Administrator, Regular User and Workflow User security groups
- The undo button is grayed out unless a Complete task action (row) is selected
- Click the Undo button to confirm the undo operation. Click the Cancel button to cancel the operation.
Delete Task Actions
From the Task Actions tab, you can delete task actions. To delete:
- Select a task action (row) to delete. Only one task action can be deleted at a time.
- Click the Delete Action button on the toolbar
- The delete button is only visible when Enable Delete has been checked under Settings – Options (top right corner of the UI)
- The delete button is grayed out unless a task action (row) is selected
- The delete function is only available to users in the Administrator and Regular User security groups
- The delete button is only visible when Enable Delete has been checked under Settings – Options (top right corner of the UI)
- Click the Delete button to confirm the delete operation. Click the Cancel button to cancel the operation.
Load Action Template
From the Task Actions tab, you can load an action template into the task. To load:
- Select Load Template from the New Action drop down to bring up the Load Action Template dialog
- Select an action template from the Action Templates drop down
- Choose the method to load the template
- Append to Actions – Append action template to existing list of task actions
- Overwrite Actions – Overwrite existing list of task actions with the action template
- Click the Load Template button when finished to load the action template into the task. You will be redirected back to the View Task page. Click the Close button to cancel the operation.
Save As Action Template
From the Task Actions tab, you can save the list of task actions as an action template. To save:
- Select Save as Template from the New Action drop down to bring up the Save As New Action Template dialog
- Enter the properties of the new Action Template
- Name – Name of the action template
- Description – Description of the action template
- Click the Save button when finished to save the task actions to an action template. You will be redirected back to the View Task page. Click the Close button to cancel the operation.
